The Saddest visual novel (ever)

Anonymous
First of I like to gave some comments to some games that were recommanded for me.

Fate Stay Night-Good story but I'm not in action visual novel. I watch manga, novels, and play video games for that.

Ever 15- great story, eroge is not bad. I'll see if i can buy it

Sharin no Kuni- Good story, but is really too much eroge, I'm not a fan of this.

A Dream of Summer- too god dam short

This game is called [="Sienna"]Kana little sister[/], Made by Digital Objects. I played around 5-6 visual novel. but this is the best.
It is however contain eroge Cgs, about 5% of the game is eroge. However, go into the game thinking that ‘all I want to see is some porn’ and you’ll be highly disappointed

This is a excellent example of a visual novel that focuses on storytelling, and falls into the subgenre of dating sims which are full of tragic events and meant to be emotionally moving for the player. ([="Red"]I didn't cry, but it made me feel sad for weeks[/]) If you cry just from music. This game will make your brawl like a baby!

Cg rating-excellent Translation- nearly excellent. there is still some errors

[="Red"]Edit:[/] compare to Ever 17

Ever 17 is deep, but Kana little sister is about reality. Thats reason why Kana is better than Ever 17, deeper message. better story. real-life problems with real-life situations. There’s no evil warlord or end of the world plot. Instead, it focuses on issues that we all have to face someday: death. No one wants Kana to die. She’s one of the sweetest, gentle girls you’ll ever come across in a game (or possibly reality).

[="MediumTurquoise"]Edit 2[/]compare to cresendo

Cresendo is a great game, however there is many reasons why kana is better than it. 1, A longer story, players takes 9-7 hours to finish kana little sister (just 1 ending). 2, The story it self is like take a little piece of kana and play it all over again, in fact , you can find Taka and Kana in some of Cresendo's Cgs. 3. Kana have a lot more fans XD

Here is the game! I ask all of you to at least to gave this a try.Cause the game is underrated I'll see if i can find a source to download visual novels legally..if is possible!!

hmm I don't remember Ever 17 have any eroge content at all.

And Sharin no Kuni only had 1 scene per herone(some had 2), which is hardly anything. Additionally you can even avoid them with choices(heck, you make them right before the scene) and still finish the game easily. I personally found Sharin no Kuni to be one of my favorites. While the ending was fairly cliche and tacked on, the actual plot progression was very good.

If you are looking for tearjerkers though, I would suggest some of Key's novels would be for you. Only 2 are completely translated right now (Planetarian and Kanon), but their stories are quite emotional. Planetarian has no eroge and the Kanon's eroge is pretty much absolute crap, but it is very short at least.

Hmm I must say Kana Little Sister. It's my first Visual Novel and still my favorite. (even thought I only played 2). Kana is a game that makes you think in another way on things you doesn't think of often. I didn't have anything i my mind than Kana after my first playtrough.

You watch manga and novels? That's first for me.

But to your main point, Kana isn't overrated at all and if anything it is overrated. Everyone who has read kana, just remembers it being sad and depressing and NOTHING ELSE. If you want a tear jerker, you can play and read many visual novels and books. For instance, Narcissu and many others which luminouslight has mentioned. But just because it is sad - doesn't make it a decent visual novel.

Kana was really sad to me, but I agree: Only because of that it isn't a good visual novel. I found the story writing quite well though, however in the end I'd give it a B-

For me Kana was much more than a sad game. I liked the character and the atmosphere. And I have a heard time explaining it. This may sound weird but I had fun haning out with Kana.

Lots of dramas deal with death and real challenges. Admit it, you like Kana not because of its themes but because it's a cute loli. If this was an old guy dying you wouldn't give it the time of day.

I also don't think Crescendo is really all that sad.

Kana is sad, but nothing special. It's just one utsuge among many others.
