You have a childhood friend who can be a potential heroine.
You also happen to have a non-blood related little sister who can be a potential heroine.
Meh that's all I can think of for now.
Try completely stupid. Some cases of these are, quite frankly, completely insane in their stupidity and make me question if the character needs someone to dress them in the morning.
1. She secretly loves the lead guy
2. She can be extremely jealous of other girls who advance on him
3. She'll look out for the hero
