Help with finding visual novels

Well, this is my first post on this forum, so hello (hajimemashite, minna-sama).

I'm sorry for being as rude as to make a request on my first post, but unfortunately, I have one that I couldn't accomplish myself.

The thing is, I love reading visual novels, especially heart-warming (sad or nostalgic or just overly cute) novels, but I hadn't been able to find any free visual novels (I'm temporarily out of money and I don't want to get them illegally) other than the ones I'd already read.

The ones that I'd read up to now are:
-Narcissu
-Narcissu ~Side 2nd~
-Planetarian
-Air
-Kanon
-True Remembrance
-At Summer's End

So, I'd like to ask you to help me with finding any heart-warming visual novels (I prefer ones that can be read in English, but I can also manage to read them in Japanese).
Will you please help me?

Welcome to the forum! No worries about requests, its all good =D

A Dream of Summer is fantastic (by the same people as At Summer's End but of much higher caliber IMHO).

Collage I remember fondly, but I do not remember why I liked it (played it long ago). The price is right though :D

A Midsummer Days Resonance
: Some yuri themes, highly recommended.

Sore ja matta ne ; until we meet again : This piece plays out like an art film more than a game. A beautiful piece.

Though in Japanese, I have heard "Bye" recommended several times. I haven't played it yet however, (though this thread reminds me to dl it) Click around and there is a free download version after the listing for the CD version. An expanded version is for sale in Japan (500 yen) but thats neither accessible nor free XP

Greetings!
Though I closed the download section a long time ago it's still there, and I think the Doujin section here is worth a look for ya!

P.S.: Download Links don't work anymore. Misuzu from VisualNews bitched around some forums and harmed our reputation so much that I removed them from the server completely.

Oh Misu *rolls eyes* didn't he disappear without telling anyone a year ago? I remember those threads XP

Our reviews section has a lot of free games as well.

Thank you very much for your help.
I haven't been able to read these visual novels yet, but they look promising...

Hmm... Did the download section go back up? I mean it is still visually there. I dont intend on downloading anything but I am just wondering.

It doesn't seem like it did go up, but in most cases it's enough to just seach for the given title (which you can get from that section) via google...

True enough. Bleh, I was just wondering myself. I figure its better to know all the capabilities of a place. Hmm.. Like knowing all the details just in case.

Well it's back online in the forum, however I didn't add any new content due timelack. I may stick to it again in a few weeks.

Hmm.. Are we allowed to upload thigns ourselves? Once its up of course?
mutio's picture
Well not directly yourselves for now but only via linking. I'll try to get that function working as well, but the server settings etc. are a pain in the ass ;)

Well no rush. Just wondering. Your doing a good job, keep up the good work bueno

Thanks^^ Well the next 3 months will be tough for me (much much work at university) so I'll probably stick to it in about 3 months or such, can't tell for sure..

What degree are you trying to get?

Is visualnews still creating problems?

I have severe animosity towards that place.

EDIT: Nevermind, I didn't see how old that post was.

Lol. You should stick around more free. We're trying to liven the place up once more
