Nibankari was my first attempt at a VN project, it managed to drag on for two years before I recently scrapped artistically.
Development focus has shifted to the Haud Animus Project, for reasons I will explain below:
Nibankari was a tribute/proof of concept for my own ability to write and design a VN, as a proof of concept, it worked. As a actual product, it has failed miserably.
It was/is a fan-novel of Tsukihime, spread across four installments (As of this writing, the first two installments are actually done, anything passed writing is dead though aside from some music and artwork.) where I basically take the canon, throw it out the window and substitute it with my own.
The reasons I discarded it are many: Lack of motivation on my part caused by staff members who frequently vanished without a trace, not only from my project but from seemingly existence itself. A lack of structured development on behalf of myself and the staff, the first which has been rectified the second was a constant problem.
Lastly, the fact it was a fan project always nagged me, it's hard to be taken seriously when your first foray into the medium is basically a glorified work of fan fiction, that was ultimately the last nail in the coffin.
Now, it is not totally dead, as of this very second I do have some staff working on it at their leisure to completely redo the scenes that were conceptualized. (over 100 concepts were done, with a handful finalized and VN-ready, same for some music)
I will be slowly releasing every single old concept done for Nibankari, which of course means spoilers all over the place, although by the time I do the massive overhaul I plan on the script/s, that may not be the case.
The few that have read the script have likened it to being anywhere from passable to people comparing in terms of quality to the original Tsukihime. (Which was probably a kneejerk reaction on those people's parts, since fan-made projects usually have the quality and quality control of an illegal Chinese mining operation)
If Nibankari ever gets to the point of being completely dead, I will simply release the scripts for consumption as-is, better that it gets out than just sitting dead on a hard drive.
