Inspiration from mangaupdates, myanimelist, mangafox, youtube.

Overview of stuff we have:
A database of VN and relations, including related accessories, anime, and manga.

visualnovelsdai.com/db

Create lists, lists of vns you have, a wish list of vns you want.
Order your have list with your favorites at the top.
Order your wish list with your most desired at the top.
Rating for every VN. 2 ratings, 1. a quality rating with 10 stars, and 2. a popularity rating with simply thumbs up. Sort and filter by both.

Also as part of the database, there are recommendations and reviews, including video reviews.

You can embed videos from youtube or upload videos to the site directly.

Every VN has fanfiction, screenshots and videos, doujins.

We have advance support for things like fanfiction above and beyond what fanfiction.net provides. Besides regular things like word counting, the 2 ratings, quality and popularity, and reviews and a thread for every chapter... Each fanfiction can be replied to as if a fanfiction was a forum. This is similar to the way that youtube video replies work, but in practice pretty different. Video replies on youtube are just sort of random, these replies to a fanfiction works as if the replies list is a full fledged forum. Writers can also optionally tack on fanfiction to other people's writings and create fanfiction of fanction.

One of the biggest problems with ff.net is quality, how to distinguish junk from gold? The ratings and popularity sortings lets you do it easily here. Same applies to the VNs themselves, find, sort, filter the VNs in advanced and intuitive ways, ie, by releases, by platform, by price, etc. Which brings me to our search solution. It's awesome, basically. Way better than the competition. Try it out.

For images we have a similar system, everyone can create multiple galleries, and put their images in them. We have both public galleries where people contribute and share images, and personal galleries where the images can only be added by one person.

Database also includes VN credits, this means companies(including fangroups and the like), and persons. Person can include all sorts of notables, VAs, translators, writers.

All persons and companies can have fans.

Is it a popularity contest to see who gets more fans? Yes.

But also our ambition to let the database be a useful profile and social networking tool for people working on VNs. So artists, writers, producers and VAs, can come together and find the people they need through the database.

We categorize VNs and other works into 'franchises', and every franchise gets a seperate wiki. The wiki can have resources and information about anything. The characters can have birthday information and we have a list of up coming birthdays.

There's also highly organized community and general discussion section with unlimited forums, a forum for every vn, a forum for every person, a forum for every company.

Wow, so many forums, how do you keep track? There's a 'my forums' feature. Click on it and add the forum to your 'my forums'. Posts in your forums then appear in one place under the community button, and you can easily just follow the forums you care about.

For example, add fatestay night, tsukihime, and type-moon forums, and hey, you've just duplicated typemoon.us in its entirety. So limit the site to just your fandom(s) if you want, but easily broaden it at will.

You also get points for quality posting. We call them dais. When you accrue significant dais, you get discounts for the VNs we're planning to sell.

Also our forums are much better than other forums. Each thread has the replies system we mentioned earlier for fanfiction. Each thread can be replied to with another thread, so you can easily see the interactions and the flow of conversation between threads.

Also: projects. You can create projects for the stuff you're working on and easily get feedback. The feedback is organized and has states, like 'resolved', 'planned', 'postponed', etc. This is the best way to communicate with the audience who's using your work. We encourage VN makers and translators to use it!

Sorry, Lessis, but we will not be having blogs anytime soon, they are still under early testing. Should have told you earlier, but things have been busy, sorry for the confusion.

Blogs will be worked on, there's a few things coming before it, the engine, the chat server, private forums...
